Find Ways to Save in every Stage of your Life

There are ways to save in every stage of life. One on the most exhilarating shopping experiences I have had to date was one where I walked out CVS paying .96 cents for three packs of Huggies diapers and a granola bar. The pictures of the receipt are on our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. At the time, I had a new daughter and needed lots of diapers. So anytime I saw a sale where I could get them at huge discounts, I bought them. Since there was a need, I was always looking with that at the back of my mind. When I had what seemed like enough size 1s, I moved on to stockpiling size 2s. I continued that trend up to size 5. I now have enough size 5s left and have a newly turned two-year-old who is nearly ready to stop wearing diapers altogether. No need to go to size 6 so, my focus has shifted from diapers to pull ups.

I recently made another drive by savings trip to CVS after finding a sale and came out with 4 packs of Huggies Pull-ups. Each usually costs 12.99. They were on sale for $9.98 each with an extra bucks offer of $10 if you buy at least $30 worth. I had a general $10 off $40 purchase offer on my card for anything in the store. I also had two diaper-specific CVS coupons – $5 off $25 of any diaper and $3 off $20 of Huggies diapers. Paying attention to satisfying the largest amount would allow me to use all the others. So, I was sure to buy $40 of Huggies diaper products so as to be able to use all these coupons on this one item. So, I bought 4 packs of Huggies Pull ups (and a Colgate toothpaste that I got for .19 cents after coupons to put me over $40). $40 – 10 – 10 – 5 – 3 = $12. After amassing all my store coupons, I moved on to manufacturer coupons. I had one $2 off coupon for each pack (4). That took another $8 off. Final price – $4 for 4 packs of pull ups. Comes to $1 each from $13.

No matter what stage of life you find yourself in, find ways to save on the things you need. Whether diapers, school supplies, new furniture, a car, or even a new house, there are ways to save specific to your current need. Put up your antennae and tune your ear to saving.
